William James Busby, affectionately known as Bill, was born on December 31, 1947, in Ticonderoga, New York, to the esteemed parents of the late Raymond and Margaret Bain Busby.
Bill’s illustrious career took him to the United States Navy, where he distinguished himself during the Vietnam War. He not only obtained his General Educational Development (GED) but also received two Purple Hearts, a testament to his unwavering valor and unwavering commitment to his nation. A native of Putnam Station, New York, Bill possessed exceptional carpentry skills, and his craftsmanship was widely recognized.
In 1986, Bill relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he not only continued his work in carpentry but also acquired expertise in scuba diving. He served with distinction as a maintenance technician for six years with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, where he was highly regarded for his dedication and proficiency.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Busby; his brother-in-law, Jay Forest; and his nephew, Jeremy Busby.
Surviving him is his devoted wife of 26 years, Jannette; his stepson, Raynner Carrillo; his sister, Linda Forest; his brother, Wayne Busby (and his wife, Sue); a devoted caretaker, Dee Tukes; and a loving family that includes numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
