Sharon Jean Stark was born June 22, 1964 in Gwinnett County, GA to Betty Jean Dixon and the late Lester Stark. She departed this life on July 12, 2021.
She was a product of Dekalb County School System, where she was a member of the 1982 graduating class of Avondale High School.
Sharon affectionately known as Shay to some, was known for her wit, contagious smile, and her sense of humor. Sharon’s greatest love was her family.
She never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew her. Sharon also enjoyed reading. She was always there to lend a smile and a good book.
Sharon was preceded in death by her step-father Bobby Hamm, grandmother Cora Dixon, her sons Antonio Stark and Sharone Stark, and her sister-in-law Gussie Dixon.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory: a loving mother, Betty Hamm; two daughters, Olympia (Rashon) Champion; Yetta (Imir) Starks; two brothers, Benny (Carolyn) Stready; Robert (Gussie) Dixon; three sisters, Cassandra Lewis, Angela Dixon, and Janice (Michael) Miller; seven grandchildren, Amari Stark, Dejerrian Billingsley, Zachary Wingfield, Micah Wingfield, Zakiyah Stark, Quiarah and Rah’Kia Champion. Sharon leaves a dear companion Rodger Finely. She shared a very special relationship with Katherine Brown. Sharon leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
