Robert Taylor Fondren, was born September 24, 1964, in Memphis, TN. He departed the world on September 14, 2021, at his home. Robert was born in Memphis, TN, there he was known as Fountain, he would go back and forth to see Ken, then after the birth of his daughter, Erin, he decided leave Memphis and move to Decatur, GA, to be with her and his stepson Ken and became known as "Memphis the Car Guy.”
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his Fiancé, and longtime companion Jacqueline J. Gilbert, Children: Daughter, Erin L. Johnson, Jacksonville, FL.; Stepchildren Kenneth Johnson, Atlanta, GA; Grandson, Avanni Johnson, Jacksonville, FL; Sister, Emily Ollie, Hawthorn, California; God Children, Play (Sandra) Hawes, Atlanta, GA; Tahoe (Colondra) Hawes, Atlanta, GA; Sleepy (Jason) Austin, Atlanta, GA; His partners children’s, Arthur Fusilier, (Stephanie), Atlanta, GA; Andre, Fusilier (Tammy), Baltimore Maryland; Helen Patterson, whom he called his sister, Atlanta, GA; OJ Gilbert, whom he referred to as his brother-in law, Fayetteville, NC.
He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, devoted friends, Bobby Glover, Oakwood Auction, Barbara Johnson and family, Gloria Parker, and friends he would refer to only by their first names: Dock, Jay, Richard, Tank, Nick, Charles, Knotts, Gene and many more. Robert’s love for humanity was beyond measure. He loved children. He was known throughout, Decatur as “Memphis the Car guy. He fell into auto sales and fixing of car business and never looked back. He loved cars. His secret of his success was his work ethics, “I can’t stop”. Even through his illness, and as the pain would get the best of him, he never stopped working. His outgoing personality helped also; says those that knew and worked with him. He also had a sharp mind and a boisterous personality.
