Pauline L. Davis, 88, a retired hotel services employee and
resident of Decatur, GA, passed away on February 5, 2026, at
Emory Decatur Hospital.
Pauline was born in Deeside, Trelawny, Jamaica, on January 10,
1938, to Mercella Hawthorne and Mr. Carrol. She completed
primary and secondary school in Jamaica before moving to
London, England. She was employed as a sales representative
for the Waterloo Company and worked in the hotel industry
in England. She moved to Brooklyn, NY, in 1974. She worked in
the hotel industry in Manhattan, NY, until her retirement in
2006.
Pauline was a dedicated member of Evergreen Baptist Church
in Brooklyn, NY, until she moved to Stone Mountain, GA, in
2015. She attended White Oak Hills Baptist Church in Stone
Mountain, GA. Pauline was a loving mother. She enjoyed
reading, walking, visiting family and friends, attending
church, and completing crossword puzzles. She participated
in numerous church activities and engaged in events at the
Senior Center in Lithonia, GA. Her friends, family, and all who
knew her will deeply miss her.
Pauline is survived by her son, Brian Davis, and her daughters,
Evelyn Davis (married to Nicolas) and Audrey Clarke (married
to David), as well as her granddaughters Kit Shirley and
Tanisha Clarke, grandson Jermaine Davis, along with many
nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her
mother, Mercella Ferguson, and brother, Beresford Jarrett.
