Mattie Facin Holmes passed away on December 16 in Lithonia, GA.
Mattie was born in Lake City, South Carolina. She and her husband, Thomas Holmes, moved to Homestead, Florida where she raised their eleven children while being a notable member of the church and community. Mattie worked hard to provide for her children and ensured they stayed on a straight and narrow path. Throughout her life, Mattie was known for always opening her home to those in need. Family and God were her top priorities. She loved reading the Bible and raised her children to believe in God. Mattie will be remembered as a loving and kind mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. The warmth of her hugs, depth of her hearty laugh, and her limitless love is felt by her family everyday. She is survived by a host of family members and many friends.
