Joshua Isaiah Bridges

Joshua Isaiah Bridges entered this life on May 25, 2005. He was born in Orlando FL. to parents Yolande Caine and Geral Bridges. Joshua then moved to Decatur Georgia 2006. He attended Columbia Elementary and was an Honor Roll student. It was during this time that he developed his love for Superheroes. He loved everything about superheroes. He would often stay up late into the night watching Marvel or DC movies or playing video games such as Batman, Roblox, or any LEGO series he could get his hands on. During this time Joshua also developed a passion for Legos.  Building intricate superhero Lego structures was an art of Joshua’s. It seemed like the more the pieces the more the excitement and joy Joshua got out of the building these magnificent LEGO pieces.

For middle school, Joshua attended DeKalb Preparatory Academy for three years, where he was a member of the Beta Club and the Morning Mix, which broadcasted morning announcements and events at the school. Joshua enjoy going on field trips to Washington DC and Orlando while attending DeKalb Academy. Joshua enjoyed learning from his favorite teachers, Ms. Wright, Mr. Ford and Mr. Sanders. Joshua also attended Radan Middle School for one year where he enjoyed leaning from his favorite teacher, Ms. Ellison. Joshua was honored as Student of The Month and recently celebrated his graduation.

Joshua was known by his friends and family to be smart, caring, passionate, loyal, and loving. His favorite movie was Night at The Museum and he would often ask his friends and family to watch it with him. Joshua was known to be very straightforward and honest. Joshua was not one to carry on very long conversations. He would always give you the blunt truth when you asked for his opinion on a matter, which his friends and family admired about him as it exemplified his genuine personality.

Joshua Isaiah Bridges, age 14, transitioned this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his home in Decatur, GA. He is survived by his parents, Yolande Caine and Geral Bridges; his brothers Kyle and Korey Hernandez, Tyler and Demarcus Bridges; his sister Liah Bristol; his paternal grandmother Blanchee Williams; his maternal grandmother Ella Pereira; his aunts Sharon Romeo and Deidra Dyer; his uncles Kirt Vasquez, Shawn Pereira, Bobby Tubbs, Troy Smith, Hollis Romeo, Dave “Spoogy” Dyer, Curtis Hernandez, Uncle Luke; his cousins Dwayne, Dion and Darrion Romeo, Dave “Sam” Dyer, Alex, Madison and Violet Vasquez, Jaden, Justin and Renee Pereira; his schoolteachers Ms. Theresa Wright and Ms. Lillian Ellison; and his many friends in school.
