John Arthur Vigil, 71, of Acworth, GA, went to his eternal rest on Monday, May 11, 2026.
John was the first-born son to missionary parents, Emilia and Art Vigil. He was born in Chetumal, Quinatana Roo, Mexico. He lived in Mexico into his early teens. From a young age, John was drawn into a deep faith and always sought to be pleasing to the Lord. John continued to grow in faith and, along with his former wife, Susan, instilled a similar love for the Lord in their two daughters, Leah and Rachel.
His kind and joyful spirit will be remembered and missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Vigil, and his sisters-in-law, Libby Vigil and Beth Vigil.
John is survived by his 2 daughters, Leah Vigil of Roswell and Rachel Vigil of Jasper, his former spouse, Susan Vigil of Jasper, his siblings, Jerry Vigil (Teresa) of Duluth, Joseph Vigil (Barbara) of San Antonio, Michael Vigil of Riverdale, Teresa Vigil and Susana Vigil of Adairsville, Maria Vigil of Decatur and Benjamin Vigil (Maria) of Charlotte, NC; and 37 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
