Hyacinth Yvonne Hope Wallace

Hyacinth Yvonne Hope (Yvonne) Wallace was born on April 22, 1952, in the parish of St. James, the beautiful Island of Jamaica, West Indies to Maud Victoria Wright and James Augustus Wallace (deceased). Yvonne, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends is the last child of 11 children.

Yvonne's early years were spent in Roehampton, St. James, Jamaica, West Indies. There she attended the Roehampton primary school and the Pentecostal Church. In her late teenage years, she relocated to Spanish Town with her parents. She found employment at the Brassiere factory off Old Harbor Road as a seamstress. Also, during her time in Spanish Town, she added to her joy, Merline and Nicholas (children).

Yvonne migrated to the United States in 1984. She went to school and studied to become a certified nursing assistant. In that field of she found employment. When she was able to have her children join her in the States, she filed for them along with her grandchildren Allan, Chantele, Hakeem, and Javiah. Yvonne was a faithful member of Covington Drive Church of God of Prophecy.

Yvonne was adored not only by her family, but her church family, her neighbors and friends. She had a big heart and a bright smile. Everyone could feel her love and excitement as she helped those with whom she came in contact.

She is predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Merline Duncan, and son, Nicholas Miller; grandchildren: Allan Cooper, Chantel Hyatt, Hakeem Hyatt, Javiah Hyatt, Richard Duncan, Nicholas Miller Jr., Gabrielle Miller; great-grandchildren: Julisssa, Jay, and Jada Cooper, A’Kaiyah and A’Khari Burrell, and Ava Hyatt; three sisters and four bothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
