Esther Slowe was born on September 22nd 1941 in Georgetown Guyana to the late Clarabel (Nee James) and Clifton Slowe of Beterverwagting Village, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. She was the first of eight children in this union. Esther closed her eyes in death in hope of the resurrection on December 11th 2022, as a benevolent, hard-working, loving Christian woman. Esther is best known and remembered for her Dorcas-like missionary work in Guyana, her horticultural talents and her famous black cake, to name a few.
She is memorialized fondly by her four daughters Sharmain Brathwaite (Glenrick), June-Ann Richards-Owens (Shawn), Yola Slowe-Richards and Stacy Richards; four grandchildren, DeAndre, Jaya, Yorick and Corey; seven siblings Patrick Slowe (Evadney), Gweneth Johnson (Simon), Naomi Slowe, Velma Rajgopaul (Noel), twins Nathan and Nathaniel Slowe and also Errol Gordon (Olive).
