Emma Jean Jones

Emma Jean Jones was born on March 24, 1938 in Brunswick County Virginia to the late Margaret Rush (Fred) and Robert Walker (Agnes). Mama (which she was affectionately called by her daughters) took her ultimate journey on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughters.

Jean was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga where she served on many committees. She was an avid sports fan enjoying the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons. Most of all she had a green thumb and enjoyed being outdoors in her yard gardening or tending to her many plants.

She leaves to hold dear her memory 5 daughters: Sandra, LaNett (Kenny), Lisa, Dawn and Robin (Pete). 7 grandchildren: Dionne (Darron), Erica (Steve), Danielle, Bobby (Juanita), Nicole, Porsche and William. 8 great grandchildren: Cedric (Alexis), Alexus, Tatiana, Kelee, Cameron, Caitlyn, Sanii and Stevee. 4 great great grandchildren: Isaac, Kaleb, Ava and Karter as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was the loyal and loving matriarch of her family.

In our hearts, we know you are in God’s hands and in a better place where there’s no suffering or pain but we will truly miss you being here with us. We love you Emma Jean. OUR QUEEN!
