Brudy L. Francis

Brudy L. Francis was born on March 16, 1949 in Mendez St. Catherine, Jamaica, W.I. to parents Mr. Eglon and Mrs. Retinella Cameron. She was the fifth of six girls.

Brudy attended Watermount All-Age School in St. Catherine, then proceeded to Willowdene High School in Spanish Town, which then led to her attendance at  Northern Caribbean University (NCU) formerly West Indies College in Mandeville, Jamaica. There she not only graduated with a Bachelor of Religion in 1975, but also met the love of her life, Carta O. Francis. After receiving her degree, she taught Bible at Port Maria High School for 6 yrs. While working there, she married her life-long partner, Carta O. Francis.

She migrated to the U.S. in 1989 and lived in Berrien Springs, Michigan for 2 yrs, while her husband studied at Andrews University. In 1983 Brudy and Carta moved to Mt. Vernon where they resided for 10 yrs until they relocated to Stone Mountain, GA.

After moving to GA, Brudy worked as a staff member at Emory University. On May 17, 1998 she was involved in a motor vehicle accident, which left her disabled. Despite her accident and the many trials, it was evident, she was a God-fearing woman. Born and raised an Adventist, she was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

On November 8, 2020 she set aside her earthly life for eternal peace.  Brudy leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Carta O. Francis, mother-in-law Lucille Francis, her sisters and brothers-in-law, and a host of in-laws too numerous to name.  She is also survived by her sisters Nellie Cameron (nephew Wayne Pullar), Myrtle Cameron (niece Anna-Kay Plummer & family), Eula Cameron (late nephew Dale Gordon), Pauline Cameron (nephew Ryan Sharpe & family), and Lilieth Cameron (nephew Kirk Kinlocke), and many other relatives and dear friends.
