Bradford Loring McGuire Jr, a US Army veteran and longtime resident of Decatur, GA, received his angel wings in the comfort of his home on January 7, 2021. He was discovered in his bedroom on January 8th in a peaceful state.
Brad was born at First US Air Force Hospital on Selfridge Air Force Base located in Harrison Township, MI on February 21, 1956 to Marlene Johnson and Bradford Loring McGuire Sr. He graduated from Dougherty High School located in Albany, GA in 1974. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Army. On Valentine’s Day of 1975, he and Ritha Denise Camp were married. They were both 18 at the time of marriage and were separated shortly after.
On December 4, 1975, his daughter Betrecia Shanell was born. He and his daughter met for the first time in March of 2016. It was the most joyous event of Brad’s life and he quoted that he could finally die an extremely happy man.
Brad is survived by his younger brother Micheal McGuire, his daughter Betrecia Shanell Thomas, his 5 nieces: LaTrice Williams, LaToya Oliver, Kym Cooley, Tyshelle McGuire, and Nikita McGuire and his fiance Ms Deborah Jackson.
