Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Beverly Virgena (Gene) Boothe born on May 14, 1955, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2023, surrounded by her three children and grandchildren. She was the eldest child born to parents, Avis Ioni Thomas Grant (deceased) and Grandville Boothe (deceased) in Clarendon, Jamaica.
Beverly was called to a higher Christian purpose, and with a servant’s heart, she served as a Deaconess at the Word of Life International Church of God (WOLICOG). She was a devoted prayer warrior who prayed for her family and the world daily, which inspired her to establish the Intercessory Prayer Team at her church. She also led the Young Ladies Ministry at WOLICOG where she established a mentorship program that paired young women with prayer mothers in the church. Children have been a focus for Beverly in her service and in her vocation. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and trained professional caregiver who for decades worked with several prominent families in the Atlanta area. She also supported children all over the world for more than 20 years through organizations such as St. Jude and sponsored orphans in Haiti and elsewhere. She always held a special place in her heart for children.
Listening to music, singing, and baking were a few of the things she loved to do outside of her work in the church and community. She is survived by her daughter Georgia McIntyre and two sons, Camau Green and Caneshe Green, her granddaughters Nicola Pritchett and Abigail McIntyre, and her grandson Rodney McIntyre. She is also survived by her aunt Bernice McPherson; uncles Benetto Thomas, Pedro Thomas, and Martin Thomas; four sisters Winsome Wilkins, Sonia ‘Joy’ McLeod, Sharon Grant, and Barbara Grant; two brothers Junior ‘Danny’ Smith and Anthony Grant; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Beverly was an amazing friend, sister, and devoted mother. Her close friends describe her as a sweet, loving, and caring person until the very end.
