Althia M. McFarlane

Tia as she was famously called or Chrome skin Tia in school was born Althia Melina Waite on May 28th 1971 at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston Jamaica to Valentina and Strafford Waite. She was the youngest of 7 kids. She began her journey as a student of St. Annes infant then St. Annes Primary and then moved on to Tivoli Gardens High School. After Graduating from Tivoli her passion for taking care of others lead her to Nursing School.

Althia was the Mother of 3 –Leon (RIP), Patricka and Alexia.

She worked in several places and several fields throughout her life such as: Jay Wray and Nephew and Petrojam.

Anyone who know her knows she was a no-nonsense person, she doesn’t take bs and she is a very stern individual. If you want something done or corrected, Tia is the person for you!

Althia Turned 50 this year and has so much to show for such a short time on this earth.

Althia was married to Peter McFarlane in May 2014-and she later moved to America shortly after the passing of her only son Leon. She lived with her husband Peter in Harrisburg PA. While in HarrisburgAlthia worked for the school district, while she pursued a job in the nursing field. She worked at the Rehabilitation hospital in Harrisburg where she was loved by many of her patients. She then, secured a transfer to start and continue on the path of helping others in a hospital here in Georgia when she met her untimely death.

Althia was reliable, you could always count on her-and she would pray with you and then ask how things turned out. She believes that GOD is in the midst of all we do, and nothing happens before its time.

Althia loves her children and her nieces and nephews like she birthed them herself. She was not selfish and always giving-she planned her life and made goals she wanted to achieve for her and her kids and she did what she had to do to make those goals and opportunities a reality.

Althia will be missed by all the lives she has touched since God handed her to Valentina and Strafford Waite to care for as their last child.

Althia Melina Waite-McFarlane leaves behind: Her Husband Peter McFarlane Daughters Patricka Roberts and Alexia Dotting, Mother Valentina Grant, Step Dad Claud Grant, Sisters Virginia Waite, Sophia Green, Brother Reynaldo Waite, Nephews: Colin, Leacroft Jr., Steven Jr. Frederick Jr., CJ, Kyle, Christopher Jr., Nieces: Maya, Samantha, Dana, Danique, Chrissy, Caliyah, Ashlin and Colin II, Her besties : Doreen, Nina and Georgia. And her In-Laws.

Althia will be sadly missed by those who loved and cared for her.

Tia walk good. My sister, my daughter, my mother, my friend, my wife and my colleague.
