Obituary

Sylvia Williams-McCaulsky was born Wednesday, May 18, 1932 (Clarendon Parish, Jamaica). On the afternoon of Friday, November 25, 2022 she transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior. Sylvia was born the first of nine children of Orthnel & Tedelia Gabriel. She was preceded in death by five of her siblings, her parents, her grandchild Rohan Ricardo Henry, and her husband Mr. Osmond McCaulsky.

Sylvia was a hard-working woman that was strong, confident, and capable. She knew what she wanted and went after it with grace, dignity, and passion. Sylvia had the ability to think and do, and was not afraid to take risks. With a junior high education, Sylvia became a natural entrepreneur, owning her first restaurant on Leaneral Street (Rollington Town, Kingston, Jamaica). Her determination was the key to her success and the beginning of a beautiful partnership with her husband Osmond. Together Sylvia and Osmond built multiple businesses, opening a saloon, convenience store, and a larger restaurant on Orange Street (Kingston, Jamaica). The dynamic duo were pillars of the community, devoted members of their faith with the Catholic Church, and the backbone of their family. Osmond and Sylvia saw it fit to make their fated bond official by exchanging vows on Friday, December 12. 1998. Sylvia is survived by her five children, Gilbert O'Connor (Adlin O'Connor), Milton O'Connor (Pearl O'Connor), Esmie O' Connor, Barrington Stainrod (Jennifer Stainrod), and Celia Erakpotobor (Joseph Erakpotobor). Four step children, Odinigi Campbell, Neville McCaulsky, Franklin McCaulsky, and Sedley McCaulsky. Two sisters and one brother. Ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

That vivaciousness and infectious laugh will truly be missed. Know that your parting has left a void & sadness in our hearts but we know joy cometh in the morning and your memory shall live on Farwell and forever rest in peace.
