MRS. JOHNNIE S. PARKS entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, in the presence and comfort of her family.  Johnnie, fondly known as Ms. Johnnie, was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious L. Spivey and Dorothy Hawk Spivey, her husband, Milton F. Parks, Sr., of 63 years, her sister, Ruby Peters, and brother, Jerry Sheldon.

Johnnie was born on November 7, 1938, in Atlanta, GA.  She graduated in 1957 as the valedictorian from Baily-Johnson School in Alpharetta, Ga.  Spiritually, Johnnie was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and faithfully served in numerous areas, including as church secretary, choir member, usher, and on special committees.  She was credited for founding the Mother's Ministry, which honored the Mother's Board.  Professionally, she received her degree in Business Administration from Blayton Business College in 1959.  She spent over 40 years at the Atlanta Housing Authority in various HR supervisory roles prior to her retirement.

Johnnie is survived by her daughter, Karen D. Parks; son, Milton F. Parks Jr., and wife Shelley; stepsister, Carla Brewer; chosen daughter, Cassandra Turnipseed; two grandchildren, Malcolm and Briana Parks; one great-granddaughter, Melody Parks; and a host of relatives and friends.

Johnnie was best known for serving others, both on and off the job, as a caregiver to those in need.  Often, she would sacrifice her own needs to help family, friends, and strangers by offering money, transportation, food, clothing, handmade crafts, and encouraging words.  She volunteered in community activities for the betterment of humankind. She truly understood that life has more meaning when you are fortunate to serve others before yourself.  Johnnie's love for God and all the lives she touched will forever be remembered and cherished.
