Ms. Phyllis Walker Adams, a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of faith, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on December 15, 1946, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the late Elmore Walker, Sr., and Vera Coleman Walker.

Phyllis received her education in the Rome City and Atlanta, Georgia school systems. She built a fulfilling career, first working at Adcor Electronics and later retiring from Aquarius Cleaning. Known for her kind and thoughtful nature, Phyllis found joy in simple yet meaningful activities, like spending time with her beloved family and friends, sewing, and baking her signature sweet potato pies for the holidays.

A devout Christian, Phyllis embraced her faith wholeheartedly and never hesitated to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Her life was a testament to the power of prayer and her deep belief in the Lord's blessings. She found peace in scripture, often reading the Bible, and took comfort in prayerful moments of thanksgiving. Phyllis's caring heart led her to reach out to others in thoughtful ways, like her cherished tradition of remembering everyone's birthday with a call.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her family: her three children, Erica Adams of Ellenwood, GA (daughter Morgan and son Jordan), Stephanie Adams of Lithonia, GA (daughters Lauren and Erykah), and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams (Natasha) of Douglasville, GA (sons Alexander, Anthony Jr., Avery, Adrian, and daughters Ariel, Alexis, and Autumn). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Tristan, as well as her sisters Carrie, Joyce, Katie, and Gladys. She is also remembered fondly by her ex-husband, Willie Adams, and her extended family.

Phyllis's life was one of faith, love, and service to others, and her impact will forever be felt by those who knew her.

"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep."

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."
