Obituary

Nathan Lenford Wright born on September 6, 1940 to the late Rudolph and Catherine Wright. He was the fifth of nine children (3 boys and 6 girls) 3 of which preceded him. Born in Mountainside, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Nathan was schooled at the Burnt Savannah Primary School and continued his training as a bricklayer and mason. As a young man, Nathan gave his life to the Lord. He met his "pride and joy" Hilma Beleta Dunkley and was married on December 22, 1968. From this union they were blessed with six children (3 boys and 3 girls). Nathan was a dedicated and caring husband and father. In 1986 Nathan had the opportunity to migrate to the United States of America. His wife and children joined him two years later. Nathan was a great house keeper and he kept the family connected and informed. His motto was "always give God praise and live life to the fullest". Aside from masonry Nathan loves to garden, cook and have a good time with the family. After living in the Bronx, NY for several years, he relocated with his wife to Stone Mountain, GA. Nathan enjoyed living here as it reminded him of Jamaica. In 2010, Nathan was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although it was a late diagnosis he was very optimistic and was determined to overcome the illness. He rededicated his life to Christ and became a deacon at the Judah House of Praise under Bishop Cary Williams Sr. Nathan loved the Lord and shared God's goodness every chance he got. After battling cancer for nearly 10 years, Nathan peacefully went home to be the Lord on July 6, 2020. He was surrounded by his family. Nathan is survived by his wife, Hilma; his children, Vivian, Andrea, Caroline, Marlyn, Nicolas and Jason; his grandchldren, Donovin, Aiden, Nickira, Nicholas, Kayla, Gizelle, Nazaire, Noah; his siblings, Mazie, Linda, Veronica, Pansy, Merchell; son-in-laws, Howard, Adam; daughter-in-law, Erica; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
