Loris M. Kirkpatrick, a devoted soldier, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies, and later moved to Queens, New York, where she attended Andrew Jackson High School.

Upon graduating high school, Loris joined the United States Army in April 1979, beginning a distinguished military career that would span over two decades. She specialized as an Ammunition Specialist and her career included significant assignments at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Darmstadt, Germany; Savannah, GA; Wiesbaden, Germany; Redstone Arsenal, AL; Kitzingen, Germany; Fort Bliss, TX; and Korea. She served in numerous leadership roles such as Squad Leader, Instructor, Operation Sergeant, Procurement Manager, and First Sergeant. Her dedication and service were recognized with several military awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal.

Loris was equally dedicated to her education, earning an Associate of Arts Degree from City College of Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management from Park University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Touro University International, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration Logistics from Touro University International. After retiring from the Army, Loris settled in Ellenwood, Georgia, where she continued to serve her community as president of the HOA and as a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority, Inc.

She was the picture of beauty. She was always impeccably dressed, with her hair done right. She made sure her house was equally beautiful, which kept her doing projects and additions to add to it's elegance. From her garden to her paintings she always took pride in her work. Especially around the Holidays, Christmas was a special time for her, and she always had the best decorations and the most extravagant tree.

She cherished her time with her dogs Pluto, Venus, Nova, and Smokey. She also loved to mentor and role model many young women, including KellyAnn, Ebony, and Jessyca as they came of age.

Loris is survived by her two children, Lavor Kirkpatrick Sr. and Brehan Kirkpatrick, and her four grandchildren, Ajia Kirkpatrick (23), Lavor Kirkpatrick Jr. (19), Benaiah Kirkpatrick (9), and Abigail Sterling (3).

Loris M. Kirkpatrick's life was one of service, love, and unwavering strength. As the youngest girl among her siblings, she will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
